I loved the work Contentactic did for us. They adapted our content confidently, and got their localisations reviewed by a developer with technical expertise in our field. The outcome is super positive: when we compare the period when we worked with Contentactic against the same period last year, we notice a rapid increase in French traffic (+70%) as well as a clear increase in conversion rates (+125% new user accounts).

- +125% conversion rate (new accounts on the French platform)
- +150K words written, translated, edited and optimised for search
Background and objectives
CoderPad wanted to establish a brand presence in the French market. So in 2024, they developed an ambitious localisation strategy tailored to the needs of their French audience.
“We wanted to develop content and marketing assets that would align with our audiences in France,” says Alice. “The goal was to develop an entire sales funnel, from acquisition to conversion, based around a structured, coherent brand narrative in French tailored to each touchpoint in the customer journey. The ultimate aim was to generate more qualified traffic that would convert better on our website.”
CoderPad’s existing website had been translated into several languages, including French, using an automated translation tool. The result was riddled with inaccuracies; stilted, literal phrasing; and clumsy headlines that struggled to convert.

Right from the start, the communication between us was clear. The team at Contentactic were good listeners and eager to understand our needs and products. They understood what we were after and quickly aligned with our goals. I wanted to work with professionals who actually understood what they were writing about. (This may seem basic, but it is a skill that is becoming harder and harder to find.) I also wanted a quality to the content and writing that would surpass what I’d seen from others in the field of translation.

At Contentactic, we launched ourselves into localising all of CoderPad’s content into French. The project included the following services:
- Creative translation (transcreation) and copywriting of strategic content for the French website
- SEO optimisation of this French content
- The creation of a brand term base for the French market, including a glossary, examples of usage, synonyms, etc.
- A review phase by a software developer to ensure all terminology was accurate and relevant
“Throughout the project, the advice and suggestions of the Contentactic team became sharper and sharper. This goes to show how deeply they immersed themselves in our world. Contentactic became more than just a service provider. They were a long-term partner.”
What made you choose Contentactic to localise your content?
“Being French and knowing the French market inside out, I was able to gauge the writing and localisation skills of our future partner. I selected Contentactic on the basis of a localisation test of a page from our website. I asked them to give us a creative, marketing translation that was tailored to our needs, our jargon and our audience.”

A lot of service providers sent us “post-edited” content, basically a machine translation followed by a human edit. I’ve nothing against this approach as long as the output is up to scratch. But what we were really looking for was a provider who would not be tied to the original version of the content. We needed people to beat up our original content and make it much more impactful from a marketing perspective. I also struggled to find a service provider who could cover both localisation and SEO optimisation. And yet content that is designed for both local readers and local search was exactly what I was looking for. Contentactic gave me that.
Alice Poulain, Head of Global Content Marketing at CoderPad“Our aim was to persuade a French audience, and to be persuasive you’ve got to speak to the audience in their words. You’ve got to go beyond translation into the realm of copywriting so that you take the message and rework it for the local audience to make it as high-converting as possible. This is exactly how Contentactic stood out from every other service provider I’d considered up to that point.”
